Assistant Principal/Grady Co. Virtual School Director

Mr. Best has been employed by the Grady County School system since 1994 and holds a Specialists Degree in Leadership from Valdosta State University. He began his teaching career at Washington Middle School as an 8th grade Earth Science teacher.  In 1999, Mr. Best moved to Cairo High School where he taught Social Studies for 8 years.  Mr. Best also served as the CHS Graduation Coach for 2 years. Mr. Best is currently an Assistant Principal at Cairo High School and Director of the Grady County Virtual School Program.

Mr. Best has been the "Voice of the Syrupmakers" for 32 years and also writes local sports for the Cairo Messenger. Mr. Best has been very active in the community and was Grady County Man of the Year in 1989 and the Grady County Community Service Award winner in 1994.

Married to Tamila, he has a daughter, Ashley, and three sons, Trey, Trevor and Tucker, and two grandsons, Joey Moore and Ledger Best.
